For sale is a stunning fully engraved King alto saxophone!
This horn is a gorgeous King serial #74xxx with its matching #74xxx neck!
This saxophone is fully pearled with 12 keys inlayed with the elusive King pearl touches.
This saxophone is gold plated with an extremely strong gold hue. Sometimes gold plated horns dont quite look gold. Whether its the application process or the amount gold used, when you hold this horn in the hands its an extremely shiny strong gold hue saxophone shaped glistening gold nugget!
This saxophone has just incredible engraving. The saxophones engraved up and down the bell, both sides of the bell, all around the front and sides of bow, up the body etc.
The horn features a main engraved large portrait scene of women goddess holding up the King logo with an eagle above that.
The engraving of the women is just massive sprawling almost the entire length of the bell! The shading, the textures, the detail, its extremely impressive.
On the left side of the bell is some kind of bird engraving.
On the right side of the bell is some kind of ancient Greek discus thrower.
The bow has incredible font and styling. The HN White logo name is surrounded by awesome boarder work all around the fin, on both bow clamps. The side of the bow has 2 more birds engraved.
The engraving surrounds the serial number and then goes up the body. With only 24 picture max its hard to show off all of the details but in the hands its just jaw dropping.
This saxophone has just had a full overhaul and pad job! This is a premium overhaul with gold metal resonators that match the finish.
The horn is 100% perfectly playing top to bottom and has very little play time on it.
Although quite gorgeous this horn is still used and has its fair share of various scratches, knicks, dings, fleabites, metal wear, engraving wear, patina or other anomalies associated with such an old vintage instrument.
That being said this horn overall is in pretty incredible minty condition.
This horn includes its gold metal end cap!
This horn comes with a random modern non King case.
Overall theres just not enough words to be said about this saxophone. A piece like this crosses over from a functional musical instrument that looks cool to a true piece of Americana art history.
This saxophone was made in the USA by hand 100 years ago during the golden era of saxophones. The top craftsman worked on this horn personally adorning it with gold, pearls & engraving. This horn was a pinnacle of what the company had to offer at the time.
You would be hard pressed to find anything 100 years old in this condition.... Even a standard base model King from this era in mint condition is rare, let alone something of this nature.
These saxophones were not produced in big numbers and there just cant be many of them floating at all, let alone sitting in this condition.
