Job Description:
Sax Stable LLC specializes in new, used and vintage brass and woodwind instrument sales as well consignment, repairs and restorations of musical instruments. Located in Southern California nestled among the recording studios, session artists, pro/touring musicians and the global scene, we are a focal point in the community. We offer an extensive collection of new, used and vintage horns as well newly expanded repair capabilities. We are among the few official designated Selmer Paris authorized stores for sales and repairs. On a regular basis we are purchasing a constant stream of new and vintage saxophones providing access to an amazing collection of horns.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead/Master Brass and Woodwind Musical Instrument Technician to lead our repair team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for music and musical instruments, with extensive experience in repairing and restoring a wide range of brass & wind instruments, particularly saxophones.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and mentor a team of repair technicians, providing guidance and training.
- Perform complex repairs and restorations on all types of brass and woodwind instruments, with a specialization in saxophones.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot instrument issues, recommending appropriate solutions. *Maintain accurate records of repairs and restorations.
- Provide exceptional customer service, communicating effectively with clients about their instrument needs.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest repair techniques and technologies.
Qualifications:
- Expert knowledge of instrument mechanics, materials, and repair techniques.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor a team.
- Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Passion for music and musical instruments.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong pre-existing knowledge of instrument brands/models such as vintage Selmer Mark VIs or SBAs, King Super 20s, golden era Conn’s and be able to confidently overhaul or restore to completion.
