For sale is an absolutely incredible Selmer Mark VI serial number 107xxx alto saxophone in glorious original lacquer!
This is horn is in absolutely jaw dropping original condition!
You do not find horns of some close to 60 years of age in this type of condition.
The saxophone comes with its matching 107xxx serial number neck.
This horn is a prime example of an early Mark VI, not very far away from being a 5 digit!
This saxophone is being sold as used and has its fair share of scratches, knicks, dings, dents, fleabites, patina, metal wear, and other anomalies associated with such a used horn.
Theres 1 larger scratch that goes right across the Henri Selmer logo. This can be clearly seen in picture #12.
You can see some various freak patches of red or patina'd metal in a few areas. I was thinking about removing and cleaning these off however I decided to keep it as is for the new owner to decide what happens!
The horn has no clicks, clanks, metal on metal. All the motion feel great and snappy and its all opening and closing to perfection however its sitting on used to older pads.
Once again, the horn has seen the shop recently which is fantastic, but they are used older pads!
The S on the neck comes from the factory with blue paint. The S on this neck either at one point had red paint put in it, or perhaps is normal but just showing extreme patina. The color thats left almost likes like a partial blue, partial red. This can be clearly seen in picture #11.
This horn includes a vintage Selmer tray pack for alto, clarinet and flute. It has no Selmer logo on it however its absolutely a vintage Selmer case worth a very pretty penny on its own!
This horn included an original Selmer end cap!
Its really not very often a Mark VI of this caliber pops up. If you have been looking for a great investment piece, please do not hesitate to buy now and pay over. I will ship ASAP upon payment!
