For sale is a beautiful Selmer Mark VI 5 digit alto saxophone with its Selmer case!
This horns body is a 5 digit Selmer serial #67xxx with a serial #66xxx neck.
This saxophone has recently had a professional top level overhaul with premium materials. The horn is in fantastic playing condition. The horn features its factory Selmer metal resonators. The repair tech salvaged and used these for the overhaul which is an awesome thing! Its a lengthy process to safely take out the Selmer reso's from the old pads and properly install on the new pads. The high palm keys reso's are not vintage. Only some Mark VIs shipped with reso's there.
Although beautiful this horn still has its fair share of various scratches, knicks, dings, fleabites, metal wear, engraving wear, lacquer wear, repair marks, weld marks, patina, various patches of red through out the horn and other anomalies associated with such an old vintage instrument.

Once again the body is a Serial #67xxx, the necks a serial #66xxx. This really isnt a huge game changer or deal breaker but it does exist.
According to the player who was apparently the original owner the body & neck have been together since the horn started. The color/hue of the neck matches the body spot on. All of these horns age in various ways, so the fact that color/hue is so close lends itself that neck has been with the horn from the start. Who knows the reason why... Perhaps Selmer or the music store lost the original neck, perhaps the store damaged the neck, maybe the the neck came new in box with a large scratch and the music store asked for a fresh one, its possible the player lost the neck right away and bought a new one. All we know now is the necks have different serial numbers.
This horn comes with its Selmer case. The Selmer logo is still intact, the latches work well, however the case is falling apart.
Overall this horn is a beautiful piece sitting in a great position with the full overhaul with vintage Selmer reso's. This is a great serial range for 5 digit Mark VIs and would make a great saxophone for any player.
